Instructions for Best Viewing of These Images

To most accurately view the color and tone of these images, please use a properly calibrated monitor. If you do not have a calibration utility, the following instructions will help you set your black level and brightness on a CRT monitor.

If possible, make sure your room lighting is dimmer than your monitor.

Set your display color depth to the maximum setting.

Turn the monitor contrast control all the way up.

Now adjust the brightness to see as many distinct vertical bars as possible in the graphic below while keeping the surround black.

Next, adjust the contrast so that the white in the graphic below is just bright enough to appear clean and white. If the white is set too bright it will reduce the appearance of highlight detail and cause eye strain. You should be able to see 10 or 11 horizontal bars in the graphic below. If you can see the 11th, it should be barely visible.
